Terms of Service
Effective date: February 25, 2026
Service
The Service supports digitally generated, text-based PDF documents only. Scanned documents, image-based PDFs, or documents requiring optical character recognition (OCR) are not supported and may result in incomplete or failed redactions.
PermanentRedaction provides tools to permanently redact text-based PDFs and generate derived output files. You are responsible for reviewing outputs and confirming they meet your submission requirements.
Your content
You acknowledge and agree that you are solely responsible for verifying that all sensitive or confidential information has been properly and completely redacted. PermanentRedaction does not guarantee that all sensitive content will be identified or removed, and you assume all risk associated with reliance on the Service output.
You retain rights to your uploaded documents. You grant us permission to process your files solely to provide the service. Do not upload content you do not have the right to process.
No legal advice
PermanentRedaction does not provide legal advice, legal opinions, or legal services of any kind. Any output generated by the Service is provided for informational and technical purposes only. You are solely responsible for reviewing, verifying, and validating all redactions prior to use, filing, submission, or distribution. The Service is not a substitute for review by a qualified legal professional.
We do not provide legal advice. If you need guidance on what must be redacted, consult qualified counsel.
Availability
Uploaded files and generated outputs are retained only for a limited period of time for processing and download, after which they are automatically and permanently deleted.
The service is provided “as is” and may be updated, modified, or temporarily unavailable for maintenance.
Limitation of liability
If paid services are offered, all fees are non-refundable unless otherwise stated in writing. Pricing, billing terms, and refund policies may change over time and will be posted on the Service or communicated prior to purchase.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, PermanentRedaction is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for damages resulting from using outputs without independent verification.
